A note from the founders
Why we started Caretta.
Caretta came out of conversations with self-managing short-term rental hosts — operators running two to twenty units themselves, who already had a PMS, a channel manager, and a pricing tool, and were still answering their phone at 11pm. The Airbnb-style property managers wanted to take the whole thing over; the pure channel managers couldn't help with the regulator's email. Neither matched the work we kept hearing about.
We're building Caretta as a thin operational layer above the tools our hosts already trust — Hostaway, Hospitable, Guesty, PriceLabs — so the calls that still slip through your automation stop landing on your phone. The work is unglamorous, mostly messaging triage and vendor coordination, and that's exactly the point.
What it handles
The calls that still wake you up.
Caretta focuses on the small set of operational work that scales with the size of your portfolio — the calls your existing automation still doesn't confidently handle.
Always-on guest messaging
Exceptions & escalation
Operational coordination
Built for the host, not for the operator.
Airbnb-style property managers want to take over your calendar and your listings — they run the unit, you still answer the phone. Generic channel managers keep your inventory in sync across platforms, but you've already configured the channels, and you're still the one on-call for the regulator's email. Caretta is neither. It sits on top of the tools you already pay for, and focuses on the two pieces that incumbents keep missing: compliance tracking — every permit, registration, and stay cap is on file at the unit level so Caretta raises the issue before it bites — and pricing overrides, where the dynamic-pricing engine proposes a number every night and your last-minute floors, soft-season uplifts, and gap-night minimums win. One operator above Hostaway, Hospitable, Guesty, and PriceLabs — nothing to migrate.
